" Conscious Style: A day of Ethical Fashion at the V&A London

Coats Crafts UK recently sponsored the V&A when the museum held an event to explore the growing popularity of ethical fashion. Conscious Style was a day of fashion shows, styling work shops , talks and events.

There was a fashion swap shop with professional stylists on hand, helping to customise old clothes and create new looks. Experts included fashion designer Katherine Hamnett, the Observer's ethical living columnist Lucy Siegle whilst TV presenter Caryn Franklin debated the future of sustainable fashion on the high street.

Events of the day included:

Reinvention, Cut and Sew Workshops sponsored by Coats Crafts UK: Fashion students from Central Saint Martins demonstrate how to re-shape and customise garments during a series of sewing workshops.

Swishing: An organised swap shop giving visitors the chance to exchange their chic but unloved fashion items.
